The 9th Baltic Arbitration Days will be held in Riga, Latvia at the Dzintari Concert Hall in Jurmala and the Riga World Trading Center. The two day event is sponsored by Klauberg Baltics and will take place on 16 and 17 August 2020, with a pre-conference get-together at the Jurmala Beach Resort on 15 August 2020.

Due to COVID-19 and related travel constraints, this year’s conference will take place both onsite as well as online.

The countries in focus at this year’s conference are Israel, Russia, Switzerland and Ukraine. The conference begins on Day 1 with an opening event followed by a Reception and wine tasting. On Day 2, four different panels comprising of renowned arbitration practitioners from various jurisdictions will discuss the following topics:

  • Arbitration in transport related disputes
  • Arbitration and IT
  • Third party financing in arbitration disputes in CEE
  • Investment arbitration update

Dr. Markus Altenkirch LL.M. is a member of Baker McKenzie's Dispute Resolution teams in Düsseldorf and London .
