Dominic Sharman is a partner in the Dispute Resolution group at Baker McKenzie's Tokyo office and serves as the Deputy Chairman of UK Japan Connect - Baker McKenzie's legal and business forum fostering connections between Japan and the UK in terms of people, culture, and commerce. Before relocating to Japan, Dominic honed his legal expertise at a prominent English law firm in London. He qualified as a solicitor advocate and assisted clients with complex litigations in the courts of England & Wales, as well as various Alternative Dispute Resolution (ADR) methods. During more than 10 years in Japan, Dominic has gained deep experience in the Japanese legal market, having moved to Japan to practice law in 2014 and worked extensively with Japanese clients ever since. He is a Japanese speaker. He has substantial experience of disputes involving jurisdictions spanning Asia, Europe, the Middle East and North America, and has handled arbitrations under various institutional rules (including ICC, SIAC, JCAA and AAA-ICDR). He also represents clients litigation in both the courts of England & Wales and Japan.
