The Chartered Institute of Arbitrators

This event commences with a presentation by Penny Martin, co-author of ‘Selecting International Judges: Principle, Process, and Politics’, who will provide an overview of judicial selection procedures, with a focus on those of the International Court of Justice (ICJ) and the International Criminal Court (ICC). It will be followed by a panel discussion on practical insights from the processes in different international courts and tribunals, and the interplay of political, pragmatic and strategic considerations that affect the actors’ choices. The event, which is jointly organised by Ciarb Singapore and the Singapore branch of the International Law Association (SG-ILA), concludes with a networking drinks reception, hosted by Three Crowns.
