The Chartered Institute of Arbitrators

The use of technical expert witnesses in arbitration is vital in technical industry disputes, including construction, engineering, and energy. However, how that witness is used throughout arbitral proceedings can turn technical expertise into a tactical advantage. This panel will provide an overview of the uses of witnesses, including delay, quantum, forensic accounting, defects, and an early assessment of the facts. This Q&A style panel will provide an opportunity to hear perspectives from lawyers, arbitrators, institutions, and experts on the role, importance, strategies, and use of witnesses in large, complex projects and disputes in the region.
